Music Career Biography
July 19, 1994 - released debut album 'Peep This'. The album was not very well-received, so Jamie concentrated on comedy and acting, for the time being.
2004 - Jamie was featured on rapper Kanye West's song, "Slow Jamz." And also collaborated with Kanye West for "Gold Digger." Both songs hit the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
November 22, 2005 - album 'Unpredictable' was released. It sold over 598,000 copies in its first week and reached the US number one spot its 2nd week out.
Jamie Foxx has proven himself to be a very talented comedian, actor and musicial. But you honestly have to wonder about his acclaim. For his portrayal of Ray Charles, Jamie Fox won an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, an NAACP Image Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Before that script, the only awards Jamie Foxx had won were NAACP Image Awards for 'The Jamie Foxx Show', 'Ali', and 'Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story'. In 2007, he was awards a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. No matter how great his portrayal of Ray Charles, this man had talent and deserved the recognition before 'Ray.' I just don't think Jamie Foxx has been given his fair share of acclaim, and I hope he receives it in the coming years.
